In a recent statement, Hon. Bose Rahila Adamu (BRA) emphasized the critical need for robust mentorship programs for youths, pointing their significance in preventing misconduct among emerging leaders.

Her remarks come on the heels of financial impropriety allegations involving the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu and Halima Shehu sacked CEO of the National Social Investment Program (NSIP).

Hon. Bose underscored the important role of mentorship in shaping responsible and effective leadership among young individuals.

“Proper mentorship equips youths with the guidance necessary to uphold values and integrity when entrusted with responsibilities,” she remarked.

Contrary to the misconception of mentorship as ‘godfatherism,’ Hon. Bose clarified that it revolves around imparting knowledge, instilling values, offering guidance, and nurturing accountability in both mentors and mentees. She stressed the importance of cultivating relationships based on discipline and integrity.

Furthermore, Hon. Bose urged political leaders to seize opportunities to groom accountable individuals who will sustain and propagate their positive legacies. “Political entities should institute mentorship initiatives tailored for youths within their folds, ensuring a seamless transition of impactful leadership across generations,” she asserted.

Expressing her commitment to fostering mentorship if elected as the National Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDD), Hon. Bose affirmed her readiness to cultivate mentees devoted to upholding the party’s principles and effecting substantial change.
