The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has been described as the beacon of hope by the forum of ex-education secretaries of the 44 local government areas of Kano State, given his numerous interventions, cutting across sectors in the state.

Chairman of the forum, Rabi’u Muktar Bichi stated this when he led members of the forum on a courtesy call to the Deputy President of the Senate at the Senate, Abuja, on Friday.

Bichi, a former education secretary of Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, said the numerous developmental projects of the Deputy President of the Senate resonate across Kano State.

He commended Senator Barau for his contributions to the welfare and development of education in the state.

“As we speak, you are the beacon of hope for Kano State and its people. The remarkable work you are doing resonates throughout the entire state,” he said.

Responding, the Deputy President of the Senate, thanked the forum for the visit, reaffirming his commitment to the development of education and other sectors of the country.

Calling on all stakeholders to play their roles in addressing the challenges facing the education sector of the country, he said the government alone cannot do it without the support of other stakeholders.
