Yobe state plans to establish Hisbah Police—Gov’t Buni

Yobe state Govornor, Mai Mala Buni, has confirmed that his administration is set to establish Hisbah Police to effectively cater for the welfare needs of orphans and vulnerable groups in the state.

“We are going to establish Hisbah Corps to champion the course of orphans welfare, more especially their education and health in a bid to secure their future”, he said.

Gov. Buni also hinted that the Hisbah Corps will be mandated to coordinate mass weddings for less privileged Orphans across the state.

He said youths that are into drug abuse and other social vices are from the society, they are all known, Hisbah will assist in reducing the menace.

Buni disclosed this at the Events Center, Government House Damaturu, is the 6th in empowerment of 356 Orphans and 178 Widows in furtherance of his administration efforts to cater for the welfare of Orphans, Widows and vulnerable groups in the state.


Hon Buni who supported the Orphans and Widows with the sum of N50,000 each, said they deserve care from the government and the society.

He said it is necessary to support and give the Orphans, Widows and other vulnerable groups in the society a sense of belonging.

“Taking care of Orphans is the responsibility of each and everyone person of the society for the Orphans to have a aspiring life”.

“We must join hands together to help those who lost their parents taking into cognizance the decade age long Boko Haram insurgency suffered across the state”, he added
