Winning and getting Anambra State to join the APC possible – Gov. Otu

By David Odama
Governor Bassey Edet Otu, of Cross River State, has declared that winning and getting Anambra State to join the APC fold is possible.
Governor Otu, who was entrusted as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee for the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries for Anambra State, stated this while addressing party members and delegates who gathered to elect the party’s flag bearer for the November 8th governorship election in Anambra State.
Governor Otu in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, urged the 1,630 delegates and many other party officials at the venue of the APC primary election held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Akwa, Anambra State to work for the ultimate success of the party by supporting whoever emerges as the winner of the party primaries.
He noted that the APC is already governing two states in the Southeast, and getting a third state will be very good.
“It would be a significant gain for the people because it is time to align with the government at the center.”
Adding, “Anambra is the heart of the Southeastern states; we have to bring out a candidate that will win the main election and connect Anambra, which is the heart of the Southeast, to the center. Winning the state for the APC as the number three will be very good.”
He emphasized that the process of nation-building is ongoing and the economy of our nation is changing for the better. The fiscal responsibilities and other matters are falling into place.
Governor Otu informed the delegates that pre-primary election meetings with all the aspirants were held the previous night, and they all agreed that a transparent exercise would be held and whoever emerges victorious will enjoy the support of others.
He reiterated the need for a oneness of purpose and unity as the party goes into the main election.
As of the time of this report, the voting process was ongoing into midnight without any untoward incidents, and many expressed satisfaction.
Independent observers and representatives of the Independent National Election Commission were present to witness the APC primary.
