Union Leader seeks full implementation of Transport Policy in FCT

A Transport Union Leader Comrade Shehu Shugaba wants the federal capital Territory administration to ensure full implementation of policies initiated by the former transport Secretary in 2017
Addressing news men in Abuja, Comrade Shehu Shugaba said full implementation of the transport Policy would bring about effective and efficient service delivery and address insecurity significantly in the federal capital Territory
Comrade Shehu Shugaba who is also the secretary FCT licensing Transport Operators said restriction and denying painted taxis to some government premises and estates was hindering the development of the transport system in the territory.
According to him, all taxis operating in the federal capital territory must be licensed and painted as contained in the policy which has the inputs of stakeholders in the private and public sectors.
Comrade Shehu Shugaba commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing the former FCT transport Secretary Mr Kayode Opeifa as the managing Director of The Nigeria Railway Corporation of Nigeria which he believes would transform railway transport operations in the country.
The transport expert emphasised that the wealth of experience of Kayode Opeifa in the transport sector would reposition the Corporation in line with the Renewed Hope programs of the current administration.
He appealed to stakeholders to support the present administration in her quest to reposition the transport Sector for socio economic growth in the country.
