She said the university under the new leadership was championing several reforms, to further advance academic excellence via promotion of old reading culture amongst students.

She said:

“Class of 86, you are always coming together reminding yourselves of the need to stay together and the need to give back to the institution that made you.

“We are actually proud of you, you are all doing very well, you stand out any where your are.
” We are trying to bring the old school philosophy into system of returning the reading culture.

“The reading culture was literally dead, but today, we have revived the reading culture because of our strong fight against sorting, so students are seating down to read.

“And we have put a number of checks and balances in the system that is making it a little bit difficult for them to write exams after exams and for them to get those grades that they use to get even when they don’t merit the grades.
