Tinubu’s Historic Agreement with United Arab Emirates Opens New Opportunities; Visa Restrictions for Nigerian Travelers Lifted Instantly
By Iyojo AMEH
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, made history in Abu Dhabi by finalizing an agreement on Monday. This agreement led to the immediate lifting of the visa ban imposed on Nigerian travelers.
In addition to this, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines will promptly resume their flight schedules to and from Nigeria, with no further delays.
Crucially, this restoration of flight activity and cooperation between the two countries does not require an immediate payment from the Nigerian government. President Tinubu’s economic development efforts and proposals presented to his UAE counterpart paved the way for a mutually beneficial framework involving billions of U.S. dollars in new investments across sectors like defense and agriculture from the United Arab Emirates’ investment arms.
Furthermore, a joint foreign exchange liquidity program, negotiated by President Tinubu, will be unveiled in detail in the coming weeks.
In conclusion, President Tinubu commends UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his unwavering friendship and collaborative efforts to enhance the relationship between these two important nations to a level of excellence.
