Tinubu requests confirmation of Onwudiwe as CBN Board Member

President Bola Tinubu has sought the confirmation of Senate for appointment of Dr. Ruby Onwudiwe as member of the Board of Directors of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Tinubu’s request is contained in a letter addressed to President of Senate, Godswill Akpiabio and read at plenary in Abuja.

Tinubu in the letter said the request for confirmation was in compliance with provisions of section10, sub section one of the Central Bank of Nigeria Establishment Act 2007.

President Tinubu expressed joy to present for confirmation by the Senate, the appointment of Dr.

Ruby Onwudiwe as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

He told the lawmakers that Dr.Ruby Onwudiwe is a replacement for Mr.Kalu Eke, due to the unavailability of Mr Eke for the position.

President Tinubu expressed hope that the senate would consider and confirm in its usual expeditious manner the appointment of Onwudiwe.
