Teenager 14, Dies in Hotel Room with lover

A 14-year-old girl, Shallon Ebitare, lost her life during a rendezvous with her 17-year-old lover, Lucky Okubo, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The incident occurred on Wednesday, prompting swift action from law enforcement.

According to reports, Ebitare and Okubo checked into a hotel room in Yenagoa, presumably for leisure. However, the evening took a devastating turn when Ebitare collapsed in the bathroom of the hotel.

Efforts were made to save her as she was promptly rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Yenagoa for urgent medical attention.

Tragically, despite the efforts of medical personnel, Ebitare was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at the hospital.

The Bayelsa State Police Command swiftly responded to the incident. The Commissioner of Police ordered an immediate and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ebitare’s death.

ASP Musa Muhammed, the spokesperson for the Bayelsa police command, confirmed the developments in a statement. He disclosed that Okubo, the 17-year-old boyfriend, was taken into custody for questioning. Okubo purportedly claimed that Ebitare collapsed while taking a bath, sustaining fatal injuries.

Muhammed stated, “The suspect is in custody at the SCID Yenagoa while investigation continues with a view to ascertain the cause of death.”
