Technical Education:: Our mission is to raise educational bar, IMAP Rector -Dr. Maifata

Acting Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Dr. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata has re-echoed the institution’s readiness to collaborate with vocational institutes across the world to further enhance technical education in the state in order to produce highly skilled manpower.

Dr. Maifata affirmed that the Polytechnic is not taking any collaboration as a party walk, noting that technical education is the currency of the fast-changing world.

Speaking while delivering address at a two-day sensitization workshop to revamp technical education and vocational training in the state, Dr Maifata added that the workshop was organized to address noticeable challenges that were not intractable.

The reactor took advantage of the workshop to advise stakeholders to be involved to effective and efficient ways of raise the educational bar and make the state a centre of excellence.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Kafu Emgba, deemphasized the Governor Abdullahi Sule-led administration’s political will to revamp technical education in the state for self reliance and economic development.

On their parts, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Mrs. Atinuke Chamang described the workshop as apt as it projected to be a fulfilling future for the state.

In his paper presentation, Executive Director, Wing Commander Ibrahim Abdullahi Technology and Vocational Training Institute, Dr. Ewuga Asele called for more collaborations in order to realize the target of the government .
