Suspected Boko Haram Insurgents Kills Pastor and Five Others in Yobe State

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents unleashed terror in Kwari, Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, killing Pastor Luka Levong of the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) and five other individuals, around 2:00 am on Friday, shootings and setting houses and vehicles ablaze.

Eyewitnesses recount a harrowing scene as the attackers mercilessly targeted specific individuals, including Pastor Luka Levong and Maina Abdullahi, the church treasurer.

Both the military and the Nigerian Police Force have yet to issue official statements regarding the incident, leaving the community and concerned citizens seeking answers and heightened security measures.

This appalling incident follows recent attacks in neighboring Yobe and Borno States, highlighting an alarming surge in violence perpetrated by Boko Haram insurgents.

In a separate assault in Gartamawa, Chibok Local Government Area of Yobe State, insurgents claimed 12 lives during New Year celebrations and continued their rampage in the Tsiha community, resulting in further casualties and abductions.
