Blaise Felix Aliyu, a 15-year-old student of the Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, has lost his life allegedly due to severe punishment inflicted on him by two senior students.

Blaise, an orphan who lost his parents in 2013, was reportedly summoned by two SS3 students to their room under the guise of disciplinary action. Instead, the encounter turned fatal, resulting in his untimely death.

Blaise’s twin brother, who also attends the same military boarding school in Mando, Kaduna, now faces the heartbreaking reality of losing his sibling in such distressing circumstances.

Following the incident, Blaise’s lifeless body has been transferred to the mortuary.

Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the institution over this tragic loss.

The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety and disciplinary practices within military boarding schools. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading to Blaise’s death and to ensure justice is served.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Gabkwet said an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.

“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and indeed the entire NAF family are saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, on June 19, 2024.”
