Student Commits Suicide over failed Relationship

24-year-old Jamima Shetima Balami, a National Diploma II student of Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Adamawa state, has taken her own life over Gail relationship.

The Balami was on the brink of completing her Industrial Training at Adamawa Television (ATV) in Yola.

Her lifeless body was discovered at her residence in Vinikilang, also known as Hayin Gada, situated in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.

Sources indicate that she might have ingested a substance suspected to be rat poison.

It was revealed that, Balami’s decision to end her life may have been influenced by a troublesome relationship.

Allegedly, her boyfriend, identified as a university lecturer, had urged her to terminate their relationship, possibly contributing to her tragic end.

The father of the deceased promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to confirmation from the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.

Nguroje acknowledged the existence of two different accounts surrounding the incident and assured that the police are committed to a thorough investigation to uncover the true cause of the young woman’s untimely demise.
