The Organized Labour says the strike will continue until the Unions secure concrete commitment from the Federal Government.

In a statement by the Head of Information and Public Affairs of NLC, Mr Benson Upah says no freedom can be greater than personal liberty in a democratic governance.

The two labour centres want the federal government to show commitment to the issues raised by the unions.

NLC and TUC also condemned the role of police in the in forceful seizure of the offices of National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria(RTEAN) and Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers(NUPENG).

Mr Upah says the ongoing strike is to address injustice against the Union and law abiding associations in the country.

The ongoing strike has led to the shut down electricity supply in most part of the Federal Capital Territory while most government offices recorded low turn out of workers.
