Soludo Swears in Dr. Law Mefor as New Commissioner for Information

The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has sworn in Dr. Law Mefor as the new Commissioner for Information in a formal ceremony held at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Awka.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesman, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo noted that Dr. Mefor’s appointment is very important at a time when the accurate and timely dissemination of information is crucial to the state’s development.
“Dr. Mefor brings with him a wealth of experience that will rejuvenate our information apparatus, ensuring that our citizens receive the right information at the right time,” Governor Soludo remarked during the swearing-in ceremony.
In his remarks, Dr. Mefor outlined his plans to work in alignment with the Governor’s vision for the state. He emphasized the need for a closer partnership with media organizations to promote media literacy among the public. According to him, empowering citizens with the tools to critically assess and evaluate information is vital in curbing the spread of misinformation.
He also revealed plans to modernize the Ministry of Information through the use of technology.
Dr. Mefor stated his intention to make the ministry more responsive, efficient, and accessible by leveraging data-driven insights and analytics to support evidence-based policymaking.
With over 25 years of experience as a writer, public speaker, and media personality, Dr. Mefor’s career includes extensive research and analytical work across various industries.
He expressed his passion for the role of the media in shaping public discourse and opinion, pledging to use his new position to foster transparency and build stronger communication channels between the government and the public.
