By Abdulateef Bamgbose
The Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated Mr. Wale Fasanya, Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency, SMEDAN, for emerging as one of the recipients of this year’s National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) Awards.
Radda, who served as the helmsman of SMEDAN between 2016 and 2022, described the conferment of the productivity award on his successor as “a priceless reward for service leadership,” which Fasanya has been offering at the agency, after succeeding him.
Fasanya was among a select list of exceptional Nigerian public administrators and captains of industry, who bagged various productivity awards, in a gala event on Friday.
Governor Radda, through a statement issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, expressed joy that the good work Fasanya is doing at SMEDAN at the moment, has not gone unnoticed.
He said that SMEDAN, under the leadership of his successor, is now boosting the capacity of SMEs in the country, in a manner that is very aggressive.
“I wish to felicitate with the SMEDAN boss and my successor for the recent award he just bagged. He has truly made SMEDAN and her staff productive, since assuming office after my departure, last year.
“Fasanya not only consolidated what we were doing, but he also launched new viable programmes for the benefits of Nigerian SMEs. That is why this honour he just received did not come to me as a surprise,” he added.
