Shun cyber crimes to make yourselves useful to the society– YMCA president

Young Nigerians have been urged to shun cyber crimes and other social vices capable of jeopardizing their future ambitions.
The Youth Chairman, Young Men Christian Association, Northern zone, Engom Jonah gave the advice at a youth Northern Zonal conference in Lafia.
Mr. Jonah stressed the need for young people to equip themselves with green skills to become self employed.
He said the conference was organized to prepare and equip young people from the Northern region to face the socioeconomic challenges confronting the nation.
“This year theme “Green skills for green jobs” tends to prepare young people in a challenging world where we are face with economy challenges, youth need to be well equipped with green skills so that they can successfully navigate this changing environment and leverage the opportunities that its presents” he added.
“During this conference, we will look at the spiritual and social need for green skills” he stated.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Green skills for Green jobs”, Programme Director of Young Men Christian Association, Mrs. Nvou Luther called on young people to take advantage of the empowerment scheme so as not to be caught in the web of unemployment which exposes them to illicit substance usage and other societal ills.
Also Speaking at the conference, the Chairmen, Nasarawa state House of Assembly committees on Education and Judiciary, Danladi Jatau and Esson Mairiga described skills acquisition as the answer to the problem of unemployment in the country.
They urged youth to engage in meaningful ventures to build a better and prosperous society.
