Senator Abbas extolls Bukar Abba Ibrahim’s virtues, condoles family

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas (PDP, Adamawa Central), has extolled the virtues of the late former Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, describing him as an elder statesman per excellence.
Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the first Governor of Yobe State died on Sunday at the age of 75. He represented Yobe East Senatorial District between 2007 and 2019, after governing the state for 1992- 1993 and 1999 to 2007 .
In a statement he personally issued in Abuja on Monday, Senator Abbas said the late former governor was one of the leaders in the North East geopolitical zone who worked tirelessly and meticulously for the development of the region in all spheres.
While praying Allah SWT to grant the deceased Aljanatul Firdausi, he said the late former governor endeared himself to the people of Yobe State, North East and the country as a whole through his people -oriented leadership.
“I mourn the passage of one of our leaders in the North East geopolitical Zone,Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who died on Sunday at the age of 73. He was an excellent politician who endeared himself to people through his legendary leadership. May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanatul Firdausi.
I also pray to Allah SWT to grant his family, the government and people of Yobe State and the North East geopolitical zone the strength to bear his passage,” he said.
