Senate Press Corps Honours Agric Minister of State with Award of Excellence

The Senate Press Corps of the National Assembly has bestowed the “Award of Excellence for Strategic Synergy for Good Governance” on the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Dr.

Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, CON.

The prestigious award ceremony, held recently at the NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja, drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries from various sectors.

This was made known in a press release signed by, Obe Mabel, Principal Information Officer on behalf of the Director of Information in the Ministry.

Receiving the honor, an elated Dr.

Sabi Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the Senate Press Corps for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a positive relationship with the media.

He likened the award to an injection of “Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) into an engine,” emphasizing its energizing effect on his dedication to public service.

“I dedicate this award to Nigerians who have been yearning for good governance,” Dr. Abdullahi stated. Acknowledging the complexities of delivering good governance, he commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians through strategic governance initiatives.

Dr. Abdullahi, a veterinary surgeon by profession, represented Niger North Senatorial District in the Eighth and Ninth Senate from 2015 to 2023. During his tenure, he served as the Spokesman of the Eighth Senate and as Deputy Chief Whip of the Ninth Senate. His appointment as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security in August 2023 marked a new chapter in his public service career.
