The Senate on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, held a solemn valedictory session in honor of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented Anambra South Senatorial District until his demise.

The ceremony took place at the National Assembly complex in Abuja, where the casket bearing the remains of the senator was brought into the White House.

Lawmakers from across party lines took turns to extol Senator Ubah’s virtues, focusing on his contributions to legislative development and his profound impact on the lives of his constituents.

Known for his philanthropy and commitment to grassroots empowerment, Ubah was described as a “man of the people” whose legacy will remain indelible.

In attendance were prominent dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, both of whom paid glowing tributes.

The Vice President, in his speech, praised Ubah’s resilience and dedication to nation-building, while Dr. Ngige referred to him as a beacon of hope for the people of Anambra South.

Also present were the spouses of several senators, including Hajiya Jibrin Barau, wife of the Deputy Senate President, who led a delegation of senators’ wives to condole with the late lawmaker’s widow, Dr. Mrs. Uchenna Ifeanyi Ubah, and their children.
