Senate Constitutes 5-Man Delegation To Condole Wamakko, Family Over Brother’s Death

The Senate at a closed-session on Tuesday, constituted a 5-man delegation to pay a condolence visit to Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, over the death of his elder brother, Alh.

The late Liman Tambari Wamakko died on Sunday evening, at the Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, after a brief illness.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who presided over the closed-session and Tuesday’s plenary, announced Sen.

Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central) as leader of the delegation.

Other Senators named as part the delegation include: Sen. Ahmad Lawan (Yobe North), Sen.

Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Sen. Sahabi Ya’u (Zamfara North).

The Senate delegation departed Abuja for Sokoto on Tuesday afternoon, immediately after plenary was adjourned, to convey the sympathies of the upper chamber at the loss of such a respected member of the Wamakko family.

The delegation, during the visit, offered the condolences of the upper chamber to the Wamakko family on the passing of their beloved elder brother.

The lawmakers prayed for the soul of the deceased and asked Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

The Wamakko family expressed their gratitude to the Senate for the visit and show of solidarity.
