Seek redress in court if dissatisfied with election outcome, APC tells opposition PDP …Cautions against debasing womanhood in Nasarawa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Nasarawa State chapter has advised the opposition People’s Democratic party PDP to seek redress in the court of law if dissatisfied with the outcome of the governorship election in the state.

The ruling APC in a statement signed by the party spokesman, Chief Douglas Otaru and made available to Journalists in Lafia Monday, noted that there were legitimate windows of opportunities available for PDP to seek redress.

The statement maintained that although the party was not averse to protest in any form of civil pursuits, it added that such desperation as demonstrated by the PDP is uncultured and alien to any known Democratic norms and processes which should be condemned in it’s totality.

“We are not oblivious of the antics of the opposition aimed at scuttling the peace and security of the state that the Gov. Sule led administration has sustained over the years, further to that, we could see their desperate attempt to whip up sentiments all in an attempt to discrediting the entire electoral process which has been adjudged as the most freest and fairest contest ever in the history of the country”, the statement added.

“We have maintained this long golden silence in the APC owin ‘ja a ‘ off cc addg to the fact that we have a duty to continue to maintain law and order, protect lives and propertiy across divides and therefore, shouldn’t be seen to joining frays on issues with the weeping PDP.

Chief Otaru declared that the ruling APC in Nasarawa State will continue to refrain from any counter action capable of causing breakdown of law and order, stating that where such Olive is taken for granted, the party will be forced not to tolerate any form of harassment or intimidation of the citizens of the state by the opposition party.

“This has become necessary in view of the fact that they do not posses the Monopoly of protest. May we place on notice that the elections have come and gone, our focus as the governing party is to continue to deliver democratic goods, and to remain committed to fairness in our dealings to all manner of persons regardless of tribe, religion or political lineages”.

The statement called on all well meaning citizens of the state to eschew hate, avoid violence and maintain love for one another as they go about their normal businesses. “Bear in mind that we are one indivisible people with lots of growth opportunities. It is only In peace and unity, that we shall triumph”, the statement declared.
