Rivers Crisis: How Governor Fubara Betrayed Wike – Garus

Former Coordinator of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ presidential campaign, in the North East has called on stakeholders and Elders in Rivers state to called the Rivers state governor Siminlayi Fubara to order.

Dr. Haruna Garus Gololo who gave the advice while addressing newsmen in Abuja, on Wednesday said that the elders and stakeholders should not take sides in the festering crisis in Rivers state as Governor Fubara’s pronouncements and actions may derail the dividend of democracy in the state.

Reacting to the panel of inquiry constituted by the embattled governor Fubara, to investigate his predecessors in office, the APC Chieftain berated Fubara for lack of respect and loyalty to ex governor Nyemson Wike.

” Why there is nothing wrong with panel of inquiry, if he is probing Nyemson Wike’s administration in Rivers state, he is also probing himself, because he was the accountant General, the record keeper and one of the approving officers”.

“Wike was in a position to hand over Fubara to EFCC when he was declared wanted by the Commission, but he hide him in government House until he begins to enjoy immunity as governor. This is height of betrayal for some body who made you who you are as Governor.”

“For some of us loyalty is a moral burden, that is why I keep repeating myself, if late Abacha should rise from the grave and come back to life again, I am ready to serve him, just like Lieutenant General Useni, and Victor Malu. They made me what I am today, if Jerry Useni should call me now what ever I am doing, I will leave what I am doing to meet him. We should learn to be appreciative and grateful to God for using people to help us”.

“When I listen to Governor Fubara talking about the debt and liability he inherited, where was he when the debt were incurred and it was project, did ever as accountant General advice the former governor Wike about the debt portfolio and he was ignored? All we are saying the governor in the course of this inquiry should also submit himself, because he was part of the Wike’s adminstration”.

“Most of this liability he is talking about were the projects in the state, and it is normal even in the military some contacts are awarded without cash back up, if the money is not there to meet the contractual obligations before the end of the administration, the next governor has to settle it.

“Wike as Minister of Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), inherited debts and liability, but that has not stopped him from performing. Today he turned up as the best among Tinubu ‘s ministers in terms of performance”.

“While other Ministers are engaged in controversy over hike and increase in tariff, access to Airport, Wike Is in FCT doing what he did in Rivers state breaking grounds”.
