Ramadan : Nasarawa Speaker calls for fervent prayers for leaders, nation’s emerging challenges

LAFIA —AS Muslims all over the world embark on fasting and prayers, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau has called for prayers, duplications in order to subvert the emerging challenges bedeviling the nation.

He has also called on Nigerians to pray for the leaders at all levels for Allah’s guidance in all their decisions in order to return the country to the ideals of the founding fathers, urging people to identify with each other during the period and beyond.

The Speaker in a statement by the Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna described the month fasting as special and very significant among the Muslim communities hence the need to appreciate God for witnessing the holy month.

While congratulating Muslims for witnessing the new month of Ramadan and successfully ushering in the Ramadan fasting, Jatau enjoined Muslims to use the holy month to pray fervently for leaders at all levels to succeed, pray for the State and the Country at large to overcome its emerging challenges.

Speaker Danladi Jatau also called on well to do individuals in the society to use the period and support the less privileged ones among them to enable them observe the fasting with ease.

Speaker Jatau congratulated the entire Muslim communities in the State and beyond wishing them successful 2024 Ramadan fasting with abundant blessings.

He called on believers to adhere strictly to the ethics and guiding principles of the spiritual exercise to gain the rewards associated with it just as he enjoined Islamic scholars to use the period to preach peace, unity and togetherness among their followers to have an egalitarian society and for development to thrive.

Speaker Danladi Jatau called on Muslims and the entire people of the State to pray and support Governor Abdullahi Sule to deliver on his mandate.:

Just in: Senator Abubakar Sodangi is dead

LAFIA —- A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Senator Abubakar Danso Sodangi is dead.

According to sources, the former senator, who represented Nasarawa West in the upper chamber of the National Assembly for 12 years died on Sunday, 10th March, 2024 at the age of 70 years.

Sodangi served as the Chairman of the Campaign Council for the re-election of Governor Abdullahi Sule in 2023.

The cause of his passing away are still sketchy at the time of this report.
