People with Disabilities, PWDs in Nasarawa State have commended the Chief Executive of QAT Foundation, Hajiya Halimat Tejuosho, for purchasing a councilor nomination form for one of their members, Mr.

Yahaya Lawan Dantatu in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for November 2, 2024 in the state.

PWDs, during a courtesy visit led by Comrade Idris Mohammed Sani, to Tejuosho in Abuja, particularly expressed appreciation for her ongoing support and commitment to the association.

Specifically, Sani highlighted Tejuosho’s dedication to uplifting vulnerable groups, noting that her efforts to enhance representation for PLWDs are both inspiring and impactful.

He emphasized that Tejuosho’s contributions will leave a lasting legacy within the disabled community, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider individuals with a genuine commitment to service in future cabinet appointments.

“On behalf of the Persons with Disabilities in Keffi Local Government, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho for your generous donation of the nomination form for Mr. Yahaya Lawan Dantatu, one of our own, as a candidate for the councilor position in our local government.

“Your support significantly impacts our community and brings us closer to having a representative who will advocate for the rights and interests of PWDs in Nasarawa State. Mr. Dantatu’s candidacy represents hope for all of us, and we believe that with your foundation’s support, he will continue to champion inclusivity and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities,” he stressed.

Sani further praised the QAT Foundation for its inspiring commitment to supporting marginalized groups and emphasized the importance of meaningful representation.

In an interview following the visit, Tejuosho clarified that her decision to purchase the nomination form for Dantatu was based on her belief in his capabilities, not solely because of his disability.

She referenced notable individuals with disabilities who have made significant contributions to society, including Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, who governed while using a wheelchair due to polio.

Tejuosho reiterated the necessity for Nigeria to prioritize competence and humanity over mediocrity in all aspects of governance.

She urged the disabled community to continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, as his Renewed Hope Agenda promises to bring Nigerians.
