President Bola Tinubu has summoned the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to the Presidential Villa amidst escalating controversy within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

This summons follows the uproar surrounding a N438 million consultancy contract awarded to New Planet Projects Ltd, a company in which the minister reportedly holds a stake.

Dr. Beta Edu, the embattled Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, faced suspension by President Tinubu yesterday, citing her alleged involvement in the controversial payment.

Dr. Edu, under scrutiny for her role, appeared for interrogation at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Jabi, Abuja earlier today.

The developments within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs have drawn attention and concern, prompting the President’s intervention by summoning the Minister of Interior for further discussions at the Presidential Villa.

The unfolding situation continues to raise questions and spark investigations into the handling of government contracts and alleged improprieties within ministries.
