President Tinubu Dismisses Chief Executive Officers

In a bold move to revamp critical federal agencies aimed at safeguarding Nigerian consumers’ rights and fortifying institutions vital for economic growth, President Bola Tinubu has taken decisive action by relieving two Chief Executive Officers of their duties.

The announcement, disclosed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity in Abuja.

The dismissed executives are: Mr. Babatunde Irukera, the EVC/CEO of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and Mr.

Alexander Ayoola Okoh, the Director-General/CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

The directive mandates the outgoing CEOs to facilitate a seamless transition by handing over their responsibilities to the next most senior officers within their respective agencies.

These changes are set to take immediate effect, signifying President Tinubu’s commitment to prompt restructuring within these critical sectors.

This effort aligns with the President’s vision to propel the Nigerian economy forward while ensuring a robust framework for protecting consumer rights.

The imminent appointment of new CEOs will likely shape the trajectory of these agencies, reflecting President Tinubu’s strategy for sustainable growth and development.
