The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), says that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery is fully operational as verified a few days ago by former Group Managing Directors of the NNPC.

The NNPC Ltd which stated this while debunking reports in a section of the media alleging that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery which was re-streamed two months ago has been shut down, said that such reports were totally false.

The NNPCL in a statement by Mr. Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, stresses that the reports were figments of the imagination of those who want to create artificial scarcity and rip-off Nigerians.

Soneye pointedly noted that preparation was ongoing for the day’s loading operation at the Port Harcourt Refinery.

The company’s image maker said that it became necessary to clarify such false reports since the refinery is fully operational as verified a few days ago by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC.

In the words of Soneye; “Preparation for the day’s loading operation is currently ongoing.

“Members of the public are advised to discountenance such reports as they are the figments of the imagination of those who want to create artificial scarcity and rip-off Nigerians,” he said.
