Police nab two for alleged Abduction, Culpable Homicide in Nasarawa

Nasarawa state command of the Nigeria police have arrested two suspects, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba of Shember village in Agwatashi, Obi Local Government Area of the state for allegedly Abducting and killing of a 45 years old one Felicia Namkywa

The arrest of the suspects was sequel to complaint lodged at Obi Divisional Police Headquarters that the trader has been missing for days, and all efforts to trace her whereabouts proved abortive.

Preliminary investigation according to a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer DSP Nansel Ranham revealed that the victim was lured via phone call by one of the suspects, Abubakar Ibrahim who was owing her the sum of Forty thousand Naira (N40,000) and beckoned on her to come and purchase grains in one of the Fulani settlements, Ruga area;

According to the statement, unknown to Mrs Felicia, a mother of five and a petty traders’abductors were arrested following a painstaking investigation.

“Felicia was lured by her abductors unknown to her that there as a sinister plan to take her life and dispossess her of her business capital”.

“The suspects upon interrogation confessed to having lured and abducted the victim, took her deep into the forest where she was straggled to death and her remains dumped in a swamp and took away the sum of five hundred and fifty-five thousand Naira that was found on the victim”

“The suspects subsequently led the police operatives to the scene where the decayed remains of the late Felicia were recovered”, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department to swiftly conclude the investigation and charge the suspects to court for immediate prosecution.

CP Nadada who further extended his condolences to the family of the victim, urged them to be calm while assuring that justice would be served.
