PDP accuses APC Government of intimidation, molestation in nasarawa state .

LAFIA — Major opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Nasarawa State has accused the ruling APC government in Nasarawa State of allegedly beating drums of war which if not cautioned would not only be a threat to the forthcoming elections but truncate democratic process in the state.

This is coming at the heels of the current alleged destruction of its billboards by those they described as agents of APC led givernment in the State.

A statement issued by the Party’s publicity Secretary, Mohammed Hamza and made a available to newsmen in Lafia, frowns at the alleged destruction of billboards, posters and other campaign materials of PDP candidates in Lafia, the state capital.

The party spokesman said the act of the ruling APC allegedly executed by agents of government officials including those from the Nasarawa Urban Development Board and state owned security vigilante, (NAYES) in collaboration with heavily armed Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence personnel was a clear demonstration of manipulation of powers.

While, describing the action of the APC government as a show of shame in the twenty first century politics, the opposition PDP maintained that attacking its candidates was an indication of defeat of the APC led government and its inability to provide for the people three and half years in the saddle of the State.

The PDP assured its members, supporters and the public that its leadership is doing “everything within the law to seek a stop to these unwarranted action of the APC government and obtain justice for all PDP candidates”. The statement concluded.

Meanwhile, the PDP said “it is curious to note that the billboards and posters of APC presidential, governorship, national and state assembly are left standing while more are being erected. ”

Hamza said the PDP in the state has no option other than to call on relevant security agencies to take measures against the alleged rash acts of thuggery championed by enemies of progress and democracy, which is capable of snowballing into mayhem.
