Patronise indigenous online platforms to boost employment, curb “Japa syndrome”-Expert

Mr Francis Muofunanya, the Chairman of Educatial, an online education platform, has called on Nigerians to patronise indigenous online platforms.

Muofunanya made the call in Abuja at a roundtable in preparation for the commissioning of the Educatial platform on Tuesday.

He said, patronising indigenous online platforms would create employment opportunities for the teeming youths, thereby reducing the rate of migration, popularly called “Japa”.

The expert, who is the founder of Educatial, said indigenous contents were as good as, if not better than foreign ones.

He added that Nigerians had begun competing favourably on the global stage and should be encouraged to contribute to national development.

On the the Edutial platform, the chairman said, it was a one-stop-shop for everything on formal and vocational education.

According to him, the application is designed to enhance learning and teaching experience for students and professionals.

He said it was also designed to create room for students and content creators to monitise study materials and videos among others.

Muofunanya said one of the unique selling points of the platform was the ability to operate it offline.

He further said that the platform had numerous features designed to enable users hold virtual meetings, study, socialise as well as monitise contents.

“Educatial was created to bridge the gap between teacher and student with custom solutions designed for the e-learning sector.

“There are various features like eTv, eRadio, eChat, campus virtual tour, that have been programmed for easy usage,”he said.

Mr Celestine Achi, a digital strategist, said content creators would be able to upload and monitise videos on the Educatial online television channel.

Achi, who was the lead presenter at the event, said “Educatial is anything from formal to non-formal education.

“It is designed to meet the educational needs of Nigerians while creating opportunities for Nigerians, particularly students, to make money while studying.

“The application has EduChannel, EduGame and EduIntelligence and others, designed to bring succour to learning.”

He further said, Educatial software was designed to help educational institutions build a stronger future.

“The platform offers a range of software solutions from student management systems and online learning platforms to digital libraries and parent
communication portals,”he said.

The chairman called on government agencies, schools, students and other relevant stakeholders take advantage of the application’s uniqueness to boost skills acquisition.

Government functionaries and other dignitaries, who were in attendance at the event commended the founder of the platform.

They expressed commitment to ensuring its wide usage.
