The Need To Balance The Political Equations In Mozum Ward: A Passionate Appeal To His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ododo

In recent history, marginalisation and political ostracisation are the words that perfectly described the pitiable political condition typical of inhabitants of Mozum Ward in Bassa local government area of Kogi State.

At the moment, a battle of wits, impetus, and dominance appears to have submerged Bassa local government political terrain, obscuring the modus operandi and standards recommended by leaders of our great party.

For instance, the vice chairmanship position is zoned to Mozum district, an area comprising Mozum ward and Ozugbe ward.
Ozugbe Ward has in recent times produced a council leader by the name of Mallam Memuna Yahaya and a House of Assembly member, Hon. Rai Daniya, it’s on this note It was concluded and agreed that Mozum Ward should produce the next vice chairman for equity, fairness, justice, inclusiveness, and to create a sense of belonging.

It is appropriate to imbibe the same formula for a microzoning in Mozum Ward since it comprises zones A and B for political balance, but that was neglected as broad daylight abnormalities are perpetuated, undermining the tenet formation of politics.
It is worthy of note that Mozum ward is subdivided into two, zone-A and zone-B. Zone-A includes Mozum Waterside and Mozum Sabongari; this area has the following people occupying government offices presently.
1. Subeb board member/secretary, the person of Alh Alhassan Salisu Adakeke.
2. The LGA APC party chairman is the person of Abdulmuni Umar.
3. LGA supervisor, presently the person of Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim Shaba.
4. The present nominated councillor to present Mozum ward in the forthcoming LGA election is from zone-A.
All these people are presently occupying offices and are all from Mozum Zone-A. But sadly and unfortunately, the same leaders in zone A went ahead and illegally handpicked a vice chairman from zone A, a lady who was a special adviser during the last concluded LGA executives.

Conversely, zone-B, which comprises Adimbeku and Ogba-bete polling units, is left with nothing, leaving a huge stain on the equity, fairness, justice, and inclusiveness that the people, governor, and governments of Alh Usman Ododo are building in the state.

The three candidates vying for the position of vice chairman are as follows:.a) Aishat Ada Alhassan, zone A; 2) Aisha Aliyu Idris, zone A, 3) Gimba A Halimat.
zone-B

This is the true political equation in Mozum ward, and it’s on this basis that zone B is agitating for the vice chairman position for equity, fairness, justice, and inclusiveness.

Some political leaders from Mozum are hell-bent on frustrating the party and making the party look bad in the eyes of the people because of their selfish and greedy quest for political dominance and control.

It is on this note that we, the sincere and concerned youths of Mozum, are calling and pleading with His Excellency Alh Usman Ododo to intervene and correct this political marginalisation, suppression, and abnormality by some leaders in Mozum zone-A against the people of zone-B.

We must not allow other political parties to take advantage of our lapses and inability to do the right thing, hence the passionate appeal to correct this glaring injustice against our people.
The good people of zone-B are appealing for consideration for their sole candidate, Amb Gimba A Halimat (B.lami), who has done so much for the party in the state down to her ward and polling unit.

As an artist and a musician, she has used that medium to promote, canvass, and champion the campaign of Ododo/Joe 2023 governorship victory. We passionately stand with her because we know how faithful she has been to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
