The Nigerian Red Cross Society, NRCS, has launched an urgent appeal for Two point Five million dollars to support victims of the devastating flood that ravaged Maiduguri, Borno State.

This critical support will provide food, shelter, and livelihood aid to 4,500 affected households.

In a statement in Abuja by the NRCS Coordinator Communications and Advocacy Adviser Chima Nwankwo, the NRCS, President Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga notes that the organization has deployed emergency response teams to provide relief materials to affected communities.

Prince Adeaga describes the situation as critical and the organization can not respond alone.

“Flooding has led to displacement of communities, destruction of homes and left many without access to clean water, food, and shelter.

“The situation on the ground is critical, with many families struggling to survive.

“In the wake of this disaster, the Nigerian Red Cross is on the front lines, delivering emergency relief such as food, water, first aid and providing temporary shelter to those who have lost their homes.

“However, the scale of the disaster far exceeds the resources currently available.”
“Our teams are working tirelessly to respond to this emergency, but we cannot do it alone”. He said

The NRCS President urges all stakeholders to contribute to the relief efforts, ensuring that those affected receive the necessary aid to rebuild their lives.
