The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello Koko , held strategic meeting with the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command Rear Admiral JD Akpan and Fleet Commander West, Rear Admiral AO Olodude at the NPA Headquarters Marina on Tuesday for effective security measures at the ports .

The meeting as stated by the NPA boss, focused on generating fresh ideas to sustain the gains the Lagos Pilotage District has reaped from the nationwide collaborative arrangements between the two government agencies .

It will be recalled that in addition to the acquisition and deployment of Security Patrol Boats, the Authority had deployed its partnership with the Navy to improve channel security in the eastern ports which has resulted in increased cargo traffic in Onne, Calabar and Warri Ports.
