Nigerian Senate confirms appointment of Iyantan as NPC Commissioner

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Olukemi Iyantan as Commissioners in the National Population Commission ( NPC ) , representing Ondo State .

Her confirmation is sequel to adoption of recommendation of the report of Committee on National Identity Card and National Population.

Chairman of the Committee , Senator Abdul Ningi said the recommendation for her appointment was based on her credentials made available to the committee.

He said the nominee deserved the appointment and should be confirmed by the Senate , given her pedigree and public service record.

Senate accordingly resolved into committee of the whole for clause by clause consideration and confirmation of appointment of Iyantan as Commissioner of the National Population Commission from Ondo State.

In his remarks after the confirmation, the Deputy President of the Senate , Senator Barau Jibrin ,who presided plenary urged the her to join other commissioners and Chairman of NPC , to advance the commission forward
