Nigerian Army Assures Kaduna NUJ Of Collaboration

The Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC), Jaji, has called on troops to uphold discipline and utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The centre also tasked troops on professionalism before, during and after the forthcoming general election slated for February and March 2023 respectively.
The centre further solicited the support of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Kaduna Council towards peacekeeping during the handing-over ceremony of the centre’s former commandant in Jaji on Friday.
The outgoing commandant, Maj. General Auwal Fagge, who was appreciative of the support of the media, being the fourth estate of the realm, requested that such support should be extended to the newly decorated commandant.
” I assure you that the new commandant will accord you all the necessary assistance you need, just as I did, feel free to let us know where we have erred.
“I have been here for a year and four months. I thanked the COAS for giving me the opportunity to serve in this environment where I have met different types of people.
“Peace keeping center has availed me the opportunity to interact not only with officers and men of the Armed Forces but, with people from the civilian, I remain the happiest person this morning because, my journey here remained the happiest and smooth one, I appreciate the understanding I received from the least soldier in this centre for things to go well, it was a family issue here, I thank you so much,” Fagge said.
While speaking, the outgoing Commandant expressed confidence in the capacity of the new commandant, whom he described as a great general with the ability to maintain and improve on the mission of the centre.
In his remarks, shortly after taken over as the new commandant of the centre, Maj. Gen. EAP Undiandeye, reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that the mission of the centre is strictly adhered to.
“It is a great pleasure for me to take over the centre from my senior colleague, in as much as I have the philosophy of strict adherence to to our duty, I want to request that the cooperation, dedication and support you gave to my colleague be given to me for the success of the centre.
“I want to also add that this is a very security challenged period and combined with the upcoming general elections, I know that the headquarters has sent out code of conduct in respect to the conduct of the upcoming general elections, I want you all to farmiliarise yourself with the content of that document, and do you not perform a duty that you are not assigned to. Stick to the duty of orders you have been instructed.
“I don’t want to hear any incidence involving this centre either by an individual or a group of individuals, we are strictly a training institution, and we should conduct ourselves within that order,” he emphasised.
The new commandant who promised to uphold all welfare and plans that have been in existence at the centre said: “I will also try to request the headquarters to give available resources to help us enhanced the working environment and individual welfare, I will be a leader that has a listening ear and also be strict in ensuring that we do what is expected of us.”
