Next month polls: Reject leaders with questionable characters, Clergy tells Nigerians

LAFIA–AHEAD of next months elections, the prelate of Methodist church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Baba, has called on Nigerians not to make the mistakes of voting leaders with questionable character, but for only credible leaders that can take the nation out of it’s current challenges.

He said Nigerians have gone through hardship because leaders with questionable characters have been allowed to continuously rule the country thereby depriving the citizens from benefitting from better society.

The prelate gave the advice while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the inauguration of the Lafia Diocese of the Methodist church of Nigeria in Lafia

He observed that the current situation in the country needed credible leaders that would change what he described as bad situation for the better.

The head of the Methodist church in Nigeria lamented that Nigerians have not had it so bad in the past like what is happening currently interns of worsening insecurity and economic hardship under president Muhammadu Buhari, calling for a change.

“Nigeria is the only country we have so I call on Nigerians to vote only credible leaders who will take us to the next level of a better Nigeria”

” Nigeria love us and God loves Nigeria, God has given Nigeria everything it takes to make us great. Nigeria is the most populous black nation in Africa and the whole world so we must not embarrassed ourselves. As we go to the poll in the next general elections, let everybody have the fear of God and vote credible leaders that will take Nigeria to a better country”

Continuing, he said ” let everybody have the fear of God and do the right thing. We will not continue to like this. We need a change. We need to move to a next level of better life where every Nigerian child yet unborn will come and meet a good Nigeria”

It has never been so bad like this in terms of security, in terms of brotherly love when suddenly the devil entered and changed our.minds to be enemies of ourselves. It is not supposed to be so we must come together as a people and say to ourselves enough is enough” the Prelate said.

The prelate therefore, called on Nigerians to remain in fervent prayers for a Peaceful general election.
