NAWOJ FCT Congratulates Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba on Appointment

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba on his appointment as the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) National Committee on Health Policy and Planning.

In a statement released by NAWOJ FCT Chairperson Bassey Ikpang, she described Dr.

Garba’s appointment as a reflection of his dedication to healthcare reform and advocacy across Africa. “Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba’s appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his tireless efforts in strengthening health policy and planning in Nigeria.
We are confident that his visionary leadership will bring transformative changes that will benefit the entire healthcare system, particularly for marginalized and underserved communities,” Ikpang remarked.

Dr. Garba, a prominent health advocate and founder of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN), is widely respected in the healthcare sector. His leadership and contributions have earned him a reputation for driving significant improvements in healthcare delivery. Notably, he has pledged to develop and implement a new five-year strategic plan for the NMA, aimed at enhancing the nation’s healthcare infrastructure.

His commitment to the “Health Sector Renewal and Investment Initiative” has been commended, with expectations that it will lead to tangible improvements in the quality of healthcare services across Nigeria. NAWOJ FCT particularly applauded Dr. Garba’s inclusive approach to healthcare reforms, which align with the organization’s advocacy for equitable healthcare access, especially for women, children, and persons with disabilities.

“We are encouraged by his inclusive vision, which ensures that no one is left behind in healthcare policy reforms,” the statement added. The FCT Chapter further acknowledged the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association, under the guidance of Prof. Bala Audu, for recognizing Dr. Garba’s extensive contributions and entrusting him with such a critical role.

NAWOJ FCT pledged its full support for Dr. Garba as he embarks on this new chapter, expressing confidence that his leadership will drive significant advancements in the country’s healthcare system. The association also wished him success in his new role, offering prayers for wisdom and strength.
