Nationwide Protest: CG NHFSS Urges Protesters To Embrace Dialogue, Solicits Support For Tinubu

The Commander General of Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, Ambassador Dr. Joshua Osatimehin has expressed concern over the loss of lives and properties worth billions of naira to the ongoing nationwide protest.

Ambassador Osatimehin stated this while addressing newsmen after monitoring the situation with officers and men of FCT Command of NHFSS deployed to compliment the efforts of formal Security Agencies in Abuja.

He decried the situation where what is supposed to be a peaceful protest has turned to violence through the action of some unpatriotic Nigerians most especially youths in some parts of the country.

According to him, it is high time the organizers of the protest embrace dialogue as the protest has been hijacked by hoodlums and those who do not mean well for Nigeria.

“It is quite unfortunate that lives and properties worth billions of naira has already been lost to the nationwide protest as what happened in Kano, Kaduna, Borno, Yobe and Niger States is uncalled for at a time when the administration of President Bola Tinubu is trying to reposition the country for better because we don’t have any other country than Nigeria hence the need for all of us to join hands together to make it great” the Commander General stated.

He therefore stressed the need for those behind the protest to give peace and dialogue a chance as well as allow President Bola Tinubu to address all the grievances they have enumerated which the President as acknowledged.

Ambassador Osatimehin said he had earlier before the nationwide protest directed his officers and men in the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT compliment the efforts of formal security agencies in maintaining law and order as well as protect lives and property during and after the protest.

“Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service is an Organization that respect constituted authority and that is why we’re not taking part in the nationwide protest but rather compliment the efforts of formal security agencies in safeguarding lives and property of law abiding Nigerians and that is exactly what we have been doing since Thursday, 1st of August when the protest started in the country and that’s why I’m equally out today with my officers and men to monitor the situation within and around the FCT which is the seat of Government” He emphasized.

In his words”NHFSS is equally aware of the economic challenges confronting the country but we cannot because of that set our country on fire as we’re all aware that President Bola Tinubu mean well for Nigeria and that is why he has been working tirelessly alongside with his cabinet to actualize his renewed hope agenda for all Nigerians irrespective of tribes, religion and political differences “.

The Commander General of NHFSS therefore appealed to all Nigerians most especially the youths to support President Bola Tinubu’s led administration towards realizing its developmental programmes for the country and restore the lost glory of Nigeria in the areas of economy, security, education, health among others.
