Nasarawa Guber Election: Tribunal: fixes September 14th for adoption of written addresses as APC fails to present witnesses

The governorship Election petetion sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State Tuesday fixed 14th of September for the adoption of final written addresses by the counsels of the petitioner and the three defendants.

This is even as the All Progressive Congress APC, the third defendant failed to present witnesses before the tribunal as it closes it’s defense at the tribunal.

Chairman of the three-man Election Petition Panel, Ezekiel Ajayi, fixed Friday September 14th for adoption of written addresses by the parties involved in the petition field by the petitioner, PDP and it’s candidate in the 2023 governorship election in the state

The tribunal Chairman also announced the adjournent of the sitting after the counsel to the third defendant, (All Progressives Congress, APC) applied to close his defence.

Earlier, Counsel to APC, Mathew Burkaa (SAN), who opened their defence, also applied to the tribunal to close their case without calling any witness.

On his part, counsel to petitioner,. Samuel Jubril-Okutepa (SAN) declared that the third defendant closed it case with out presenting a witness because they have nothing to prove their case adding that adding that with the action of the defendant, the petition was left undefended.

Recalled that the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), David Emmanuel Ombugadu, at the 2023 governorship elections had field petition challenging the declaration of Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 18. Poll.
