Nasarawa at 28: We must live together, develop our state— govt, urges citizens, calls for unity amongst Nigerians at 64

Nasarawa State Government on Sunday called on Nigerians and indeed citizens of Nasarawa State to show love to one another, live in peace, unity and cohabit with one another in order for the re speedy development in the country.

The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe who gave the charge at a Special Church Service in ERCC Gloryland Lafia to mark the 64th Nigeria Independence and Nasarawa State at 28 stressed the need for citizens to uphold the virtues of patriotism exhibited by the nation’s founding fathers.

The Deputy Governor who was represented at the event by the Speaker of the State Assembly Rt.

Hon. Danladi Jatau said peace is paramount and is the necessary requirement for the development of any nation, hence the need for all to embrace it.

He enjoined the people of the State to put all hands on deck irrespective of political, religious or ethnic differences for the overall development of the country.

As he seized the occasion to appealed to the people to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, show patriotism by contributing positively to the development of a egalitarian state for all which is the dreams and aspirations of the nation’s founding fathers, Akabe used . the occasion to commend Gov. Sule for initiating policies and programs that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.

Akabe while calling on the citizens of the State and other residents to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule in his desire to develop the state, thanked those praying for the state and the country and encouraged them to continue so that the country can get out of the difficult times being faced by Nigerians.

Earlier, the host Pastor, Senior Pastor, Reverend Yusuf Danjuma spoke on the topic ‘ Understanding the Purpose of a Thing” said God have a purpose of allowing Nigeria achieve independence in 1960 after undergone several challenges and Nasarawa at 28 is a blessing to the people.

He urged the congregation and the larger society to understand life and direct their energy and resources to impact meaningfully towards the upliftment of humanity, lamenting the attitudes of some leaders who are so wicked, arrogant without knowing the value of the subjects they are representing.

Other Clergies, who spoke prayed for God intervention to overcome the current hardship faced by the people and enjoined leaders at all levels to lead with the fear of God, justice and fairness adding that they will one day give accounts of their leadership before the creator.

They equally called on Christians and Muslims in the state to love and tolerate one another for peace, unity and development of the state and the people.

The Church Service also witnessed Thanksgiving by the family of Mrs Saratu Haruna appreciating God for the gift of life and blessings of children, grandchildren and lots more to the family.

The congregation joined the family in appreciating God for the gift of life and prayed for God’s protection and guidance.

Dignitaries in attendance included, Hon. Solomon Akwashiki, member representing Lafia Central, former Senator Suleiman Adokwe, Elias Adokwe, former member of the State Assembly Hon. Peter Mbuchu, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, CMD Hospital Management Board, Permanent Secretaries among others.
