MMAETTE TRIUMPHS AND GOES HOME IN A BLAZE OF GLORY
The serene village of Akpautong in Esit Eket LGA of Akwa Ibom State came alive yesterday as people from all walks of life trooped in en masse to pay their last respect to the departed Matriarch of the Eyiboh’s dynasty, Deaconess Grace Sunday Eyiboh, mother of versatile and erudite official spokesman of the Senate President, Hon Eseme Eyiboh
It was indeed a very colourful but emotion ladened ceremony as glowing tributes were paid to the late heroine who had paid her dues and left some indelible imprints on the sands of time in her chosen career – fashion designing.
Politicians across party lines united in brotherhood to bid eternal farewell to a renowned community leader, visionary entrepreneur and virtuous amazon.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion were the precious jewel of inestimable value of the Senate President, Her Excellency Mrs Ekaete Unoma Akpabio, Distinguished Senator Yemi Adaramodu representing Ekiti South and Chairman Senate Committee on Youths, Sports, Media and Public Affairs, who officially represented the President of the Senate, Apostle Dr Godwin Ntukudeh who stood in for Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Ekong Sampson, among others. The roll call of dignitaries is too numerous to mention as Akpautong temporarily became a Mecca of some sorts for past and present political bigwigs and gladiators.
MMAETTE as fondly called, made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible: She looked for people in rainbows and left them with some beautiful memories. All that they are or ever hope to be, they owe to their angelic mother.
To Mama in heaven, thank you for always loving us and guiding us. Even though you are no longer here with us, we can still feel your love guiding and protecting us. You are always in our hearts. We love you and miss you dearly.
