The United Kingdom authorities made a tragic discovery that raised suspicions about missing Nigerian poet, Gboyega Odubanjo, who was scheduled to perform at a festival in Northamptonshire but failed to turn up.

Gboyega, a 27-year-old talent slated to do a reading at the Shambala festival in Kelmarsh on Sunday, August 27, failed to make an appearance.

His last known sighting was around 4 am on Saturday, August 26, leaving officers desperate for information. Hailing from Woolwich in southeast London, Gboyega’s disappearance left his family deeply concerned.

However, on Thursday, August 31, during a specialized search of the area, Northamptonshire police made a grim discovery.

A body was found, though formal identification was pending. The family of the missing man was informed, and they were receiving support from trained officers. The police, though, did not suspect any foul play in his death.

Gboyega’s vanishing act was described as entirely out of character by his family, who expressed profound concern for his safety. They painted a heartfelt picture of him, mentioning his warm and infectious personality, his contagious smile, and his kind heart.

In a heartfelt appeal to the community, friends, and compassionate individuals, they sought any information that could help bring Gboyega safely back to them. Their message emphasized that no piece of information was too small, and they held onto hope for his safe return during this challenging time.
