Mining activities: Gov. Sule seeks legal backing on community development

Gov.ernor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has urged the State House of Assembly to initiate a bill that will compel state government to remit certain percentage of accrued mining funds for the development of the mining host community in the State.

Gov. Sule made the call when Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau led APC members to officially present Hon.

Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency, who recently dumped NNPP to APC in the State.

According to the governor, the essence of the bill when enacted and signed into law, it would assist in the development of the host communities where mining explorations are being carried out.

The Governor who informed the House that the state government has signed MoU with Cadastral unit to mine lithium in Nasarawa LGA, commended President Bola Tinubu for transforming the mining sector for the overall development of the State and the country at large.

” I want to appreciate the Speaker for his leadership style in the House. The Speaker’s character and good leadership has contributed greatly to the return of Hon. Isimbabi into the party. In reality, Hon. Isimbabi is always with us as a lot of people have left the party due to one reason or the other.

” I want to thank the Speaker for his leadership style and for the return of Hon. Isimbabi and also to thank Hon. Isimbabi for joining the ruling party, APC” the Governor said.

Sule While further explaining that Hon. Isimbabi’s return to the party will add value and strengthening the party, urged the Speaker to continue to provide quality leadership in the House.

On his part, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, officially presented Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, member representing Toto/ Gadabuke constituency to APC in the State to the Governor.

The Speaker while presenting the lawmaker to Governor Sule, assured that the House under his leadership will give Hon. Isimbabi equal right like other APC lawmakers in the House, informing the Governor that Hon Isimbabi joined the APC due to the Governor’s good leadership in the State.

“We brought a big fish that entered APC net, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, member representing Toto/ Gadabuke, who defected from NNPP to APC. By the Grace of God, more are coming even outside the House.

” We want to appreciate you for what you have been doing for the people of Nasarawa State, that is why I have been saying that you are a God-sent to the State, Every community in the State is feeling the impact of your administration” the Speaker said.

” You are doing well, we are proud of your leadership and we will continue to work together for the progress of the State” the Speaker declared.

The Speaker called on the people of the State to continue to support Gov. Sule and other leaders to succeed in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Responding, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency at the State House of Assembly thanked the Governor. and the Speaker for their purposeful leadership in the State.

” It gives me grace joy that I am fully back to the party, APC. Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker has done a great job for my return.
And your leadership style has attracted my return to the party your Excellency” Hon. Isimbabi said.

” We will continue to do our best for you and support you to succeed at all times” the lawmaker added.
