Man docked for N17.6Million Fraud In Delta state

A 45 – year old man, Raphael Chukwujekwu is currently facing a four count Charge at an Asaba magistrate court for allegedly defrauding three persons the sum of N17.6Million under false pretense in contravention of section 516 of the Criminal Code , Cap C 21, Vol 1 laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.
In count two of the charge sheet, No CMA / 26 c/ 2023, between the Commissioner of Police and Raphael Chukwujekwu, It was gathered that the accused and Others currently at large, on or before November 2020, fraudulently obtained the sum of N12, 199,000 from one Yogo Isioma Raphael with the pretense to help him invest for his client which is an offence punishable under section 419 of the Criminal Code , Cap C 21 Vol 1 laws of Delta State, 2006.
The accused person in count three was alleged to have on the same date and place, fraudulently obtained the sum of N2, 957, 000 from one Christian Patience Philips.
The charge stated thus: ” That you Raphael Chukwujekwu ‘m’ and others now at large, on same date and place in the aforementioned magistral District did fraudulently obtain the sum of N2,957, 000 from one Christian Patience Philippa with Pretence to assist to help her invest for her clients, a representation you know to be false and thereby Committed an Offence punishable under section 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap 21 , vol 1 laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006″.
Raphael on count four was accused of fraudulently obtaining the sum of N2,453,045:00 from one Mrs Abuel Onyebuchi Sandra with Pretence to help her invest for her clients, a representation he knew to be false contrary to section 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 21 Vol 1 laws of Delta State 2006.
Meanwhile, the Police in Asaba, Delta State have dragged a 39 year old man, Adigwe Chukwuma to an Asaba magistrate court for offences bordering on assaults, defamation and malicious damage.
Adigwe was alleged to have colluded with others currently at large on January 27,2023 at P.C.E. Dunkwu street by Noble Academy, Asaba, conspired among themselves to Commit the Crimes which is an offence punishable under section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap C 21 Vol 1 laws of Delta State 2006.
