Maiduguri Flood : NACHPN Sympathizes With Borno , Calls For Intervention

The tragedy of a disastrous flood experienced in the city of Maiduguri, Borno State as a resultant incident of heavy downpour in the State; touches the heart of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN.

The President of NACHPN, Comrade Kabir Yahya Ahmed in his reaction to the devastating occurrence; expresses heartfelt sympathy to the Government and people of Borno, especially victims of the incident; whose lives and properties were endangered by the heavy flood.

He therefore called on Community Health Practitioners in the emergency rapid response team and those in the health facilities within Borno State to ensure safety precautions, exercise their roles inline with the National Standing Orders and other recommended guidelines while encouraging them to ensure prompt referrals where necessary.

Comrade Kabir also requests a speedy intervention of the Federal and State Governments as well, humanitarian aids in a holistic rescue mission for victims of the incident. hereby acknowledged the ongoing effort towards restoring normalcy in the State.

He appealed to residents of Maiduguri, to remain calm and adhere to environmental safety measures as we pray for continued peace and safety In the state.
