Founder, Love of Christ Generation Church, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi also known as Iya Adura, has hailed the Supreme Court verdict that granted financial autonomy to local government areas.

This is even as she decried discrimination of white garment churches by other Christian denominations.

In a landmark judgement last week, the apex court had granted full autonomy to the 774 local governments in the country as stipulated in the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The seven-man panel, in a unanimous decision, agreed that it is illegal and unconstitutional for governors to continue to receive or retain funds allocated to the council areas.

Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi spoke to journalists at the weekend at a rally to herald this year’s edition of ‘Celebrate the Comforter’ annual convention in Abuja.

The over 20 kilometers rally which started at the MKO Abiola National Stadium Abuja and other parts of the city, was to sensitize Nigerians on the forthcoming convention which holds on the 20th of July, 2024.

The cerebral cleric said since the local government administration is closest to the grassroots, they should have the capacity to impact directly on the lives of the people through the initiation of life-changing programmes and projects.

According to the prophetess, only love can turn around the fortunes of the country.

“Love is going to turn around everything. You will see when the pure love that Jesus Christ Himself in the book of John chapter number three, verse number 16, ‘For God so loved the world he gave, he gave His only begotten son…..’ So when we are ready to give our best and it’s love that will make us give it. It is going to turn around. Let me tell you, this country will never remain the same again.

“The creator of the whole universe knows my voice. I have personal relationship and fellowship with Him. Raw love, pure love will begin to radiate in Nigeria henceforth and forever. He has told us that this country’s economy is going to turn around for the best. We believe and on that alone we stand”, she stated.

She lamented what she called discrimination of white garment churches by other Christian denominations.

Iya Adura called for synergy amongst all Christian denominations, adding that she had visited congregations like Redeemed Christian Church of God, Living Faith Church, Methodist Church, Christ Apostolic Church as well as Anglican Church to evangelize.
