Let’s work together with incoming APC govt to move Nigeria to next level of growth and development… says president of Senate, Ahmad Lawan

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan has called upon all the opposition political parties in the country to join hands with the president -elect and all stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress(APC) to move the nation to the next level of development.

President of the Senate made the call in Abuja while receiving in audience a delegation of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States(OACPS) led by its Secretary General, Georges Pinto Chikoti.

Senate Lawan said the elections had come and gone adding that what was left is good governance in the interest everyone

Senator Lawan told his guests that they came at a time Nigeria is going through a transition but assured them that the transition from one government to a new government on 29th May, 2023 would not be an issue for the organisation.

Lawan commended the OACPS Secretary General for working hard at the secretariat to ensure that the organisation remain very effective and efficient.

Earlier, the OACPS Secretary General, Georges Robelo Chikoti told the Senate President that his team was in Nigeria to attend a global African symposium which was organised by the OACPS and the Department of Technical Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria and the Nigeria National Commission on Diaspora.

He commended Nigerians for the just concluded peaceful elections in the country.
