Kubwa Land Encroachment :Court Orders IGP to arrest former DIG ,Hafiz Inuwa for disobeying lawful order

The Federal High Court Maitama in Abuja has ordered the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to arrest retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Inuwa by all means and take him to the Kuje correctional center for disobeying lawful court rulings of further encroachment on the property of Christ Apostolic church, Victory District Headquarters, Arab road, Kubwa Abuja.

In a ruling delivered by Justice Edward Okpe, the retired DIG is to be committed to the Correctional center for not obeying the ruling of the court delivered since May 13th, 2022 stoping him not to carry out any further activities on the land since he illegally demolished the property without proper documentation from the approving authorities.

Meanwhile the retired DIG had encroached the church land by demolishing major parts of the church properties in 2018 to illegally harnessed it in order to expand his plaza close to the church, using his influence in government and every effort to talk to him proved abortive hence the church approach the court.

After hearing the matter, Justice Edward Okpe had granted the prayers of the judgment creditor against Hafiz Inuwa who is the judgment debtor for disobeying court ruling that stopped him on further activities on the said land since 2022, commiting him to the Correctional facility in Kuje.

Speaking to Journalists after the ruling, the counsel to the church, Adewale Adegboyega commended Justice Edward Okpe by upholding the sanctity of the court, stressing that the ruling has further confirmed that the judiciary remained the only hope for a common man.

He said no matter how highly place an individual is within the society the law of the land should be respected to have a civilized society.
