The Kebbi state independent National electoral commission (INEC) has decried low collections of permanent voters card in the state.

This was disclosed by deputy Director voter education and publicity, Muhammadu Rabiu at the state INEC office Birnin Kebbi, though he didn’t disclosed the number but said that there are huge number of uncollected permanent voters card.

On the functions of the newly deployed technology Bimodel voter accriditation system (BVAS) he said the system was deployed to ensure one man one vote and to check rigging arising from over voting because shortly after ballot cast, sorting and counting the presiding officer will return to the BVAS to check the number of accredited voters which must either tally or fall below the accridited voters which is not a problem to the electoral umpire.

However, in the event of over voting the presiding officer has the power to cancel polling units under him once he certified over voting which does not tally with accridited voters.

He stressed that, INEC upload results electronically right from the polling units after party agents, police and the presiding officer signed, the presiding officer will snap the completed and signed EC8A form and send directly to the commission’s server , in case one of the agent refused to signed the results it does not invalidate the results but he is allowed by law to snap the result in dispute and send to INEC server.
